In 2014 Moses and Solomon having worked at high impact organisations in Rwanda and Uganda respectively, they both got the opportunity to be selected as scholars for the  International ACAC Conference at University of South Florida. While at the conference, Moses and Solomon were inspired by the immense opportunities that were available to High Achieving Low Income students in Africa to attain quality education experiences from reknown international colleges across the globe. This however could not be possible unless if the students are aware of the opportunity and received the right support to take up these opportunities. Having shared a room at the conference, Moses and Solomon continued to talk about this and purposed to lead a movement to increase access to quality international education experiences for HALI students in Africa.

This inspired founding of Ushindi Education Initiative.
